Board of Peace Convenes Inaugural Meeting

The Board of Peace convened its inaugural meeting on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, DC to advance the vision President Trump and Member Countries have for a durable peace in Gaza and a framework for conflict resolution.

The gathering brought together the most prestigious board in history, composed of world leaders united in a shared commitment to peace and economic renewal, with a central focus on improving the daily lives and long-term prosperity of the people of Gaza.

Humanitarian Progress

Following opening remarks from President Trump, operational leadership delivered a detailed briefing on humanitarian performance outcomes since the October ceasefire. Weekly truck volume has increased from 1,300 to 4,200 deliveries, while diversion rates declined through implementation of enhanced monitoring and tracking systems. More than two million individuals have now received food assistance.

Phased Redevelopment

The Board reviewed the phased redevelopment framework designed to move Gaza from stabilization to durable economic recovery. Initial efforts will focus on Rafah, progressing in sequenced stages that prioritize rubble removal, infrastructure stabilization, and permanent residential construction. Phase One will include more than 100,000 housing units serving over 500,000 residents. Longer-term projections outline the construction of more than 400,000 homes across Gaza, alongside coordinated infrastructure investments exceeding $30 billion. The initiative is a comprehensive blueprint for long-term economic independence and institutional renewal.

Funding and Security

President Trump announced more than $15 billion in funding commitments, led by contributions from the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, Qatar, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan for humanitarian relief and reconstruction activities. During his operational briefing, United States Major General Jasper Jeffers, the Force Commander of the International Stabilization Force ("ISF"), outlined the ISF mission set and formally announced that Indonesia will serve as Deputy Commander. Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania committed troops to the ISF for Gaza. Egypt and Jordan will support the effort by training new Gaza police force.

Reconstruction Fund

Consistent with President Trump's directive that reconstruction funds be governed by strict oversight protocols, the Board formally established the World Bank-administered Gaza Reconstruction and Development Fund. The Fund will operate under defined fiduciary controls, aligned with global best practices. An AI-enabled digital infrastructure backbone will support procurement transparency and transform Gaza into a modern economy, reducing corruption risk and ensuring responsible stewardship of reconstruction capital for the benefit of Gaza's residents.

Multilateral Coordination

The Board also highlighted expanding multilateral coordination, including partnership engagement with FIFA and collaboration with the United Nations to integrate humanitarian delivery, youth development initiatives, and institutional capacity-building into the broader stabilization and reconstruction framework.

Path Forward

Leaders of member nations reaffirmed their commitment to coordinated action, responsible stewardship of reconstruction capital, and sustained diplomatic alignment. World leaders emphasized that execution, not rhetoric, will determine credibility and long-term success.

The February convening marked the transition from conceptual planning to structured execution. Clear benchmarks were adopted, oversight mechanisms formalized, and capital deployment pathways activated. The session showcased over a dozen distinguished experts and global leaders whose insights helped shape the path forward. Under President Trump's leadership, the Board of Peace now advances within a disciplined framework designed to deliver near-term stabilization and long-term prosperity for the people of Gaza.
